Zohra / زهرة

At night we carry sand, and during the day we carry rocks.

Zohra, a Moroccan woman in her mid-sixties, led me on a search for motives and symbols which tell her story and many other’s. A story on how she illegally built her house by night while working by day.

What are the fundamental building blocks of a home? What elements and necessities combined together create the possibilities of a home? A home that’s livable yet unlivable, one that’s built yet left unfinished.
